Arsenal, trailing 1-0 from the first leg, started brightly and pressed for an early breakthrough. However, PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma was in inspired form, denying Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka with a string of impressive saves.
The French champions broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when Fabián Ruiz fired home from the edge of the area, doubling PSG’s aggregate advantage and sending the home crowd into raptures. Arsenal responded with attacking intent, but their efforts were repeatedly thwarted by a resolute PSG defense.
The second half saw further drama as PSG were awarded a penalty following a contentious handball decision. Vitinha stepped up, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya produced a superb save to keep the Gunners’ hopes alive.
Just minutes later, Achraf Hakimi extended PSG’s lead with a precise finish, making it 2-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate. Arsenal refused to give in, and Bukayo Saka pulled one back in the 76th minute to spark a late surge. The England winger had a golden opportunity to level the tie moments later but blazed his shot over the crossbar.
Despite Arsenal’s spirited display and dominance in spells, their lack of clinical finishing proved costly. PSG’s efficiency in front of goal and defensive solidity ultimately made the difference, as Luis Enrique’s side reached their second Champions League final in club history.
Arsenal’s European adventure ends at the semi-final stage, leaving Mikel Arteta’s men to focus on their domestic campaign. PSG, meanwhile, will look to claim their first Champions League title later this month in Munich.
