The final day of the Cheltenham Festival 2025 is set to be a thrilling conclusion to an eventful week of racing. As anticipation builds for Gold Cup Day, here’s what spectators and racing enthusiasts can look forward to on Friday, March 14th.

Race Schedule

The day kicks off at 13:20 with the JCB Triumph Hurdle, followed by six more races culminating in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at 17:20. The highlight of the day, and indeed the entire festival, is the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup at 16:00.

Gold Cup Drama

All eyes will be on Galopin Des Champs as he attempts to make history by winning his third consecutive Gold Cup. However, after a week that has seen favorites falter in championship races, including Constitution Hill’s fall in the Champion Hurdle, the outcome is far from certain.

Key challengers include Banbridge, fresh from his King George VI Chase victory, and the supplemented Inothewayurthinkin. Monty’s Star, backed by the in-form team of Rachael Blackmore and Henry de Bromhead, has also seen strong support in the betting markets.

Other Races to Watch

The Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at 15:20 promises to be a competitive affair, with last year’s Champion Bumper winner Jasmin De Vaux among the favorites. In the Hunters’ Chase, Shearer carries the hopes of trainer Paul Nicholls for his 51st Cheltenham Festival victory.

Irish Dominance

Following strong performances earlier in the week, Irish-trained horses are expected to feature prominently across all races. The finale, the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle, has generated particular buzz around Willie Mullins’ Kopeck De Mee, making his debut for the yard.

As the festival draws to a close, racing fans can expect a day filled with drama, potential upsets, and possibly some history-making performances. The stage is set for a fitting end to another memorable Cheltenham Festival.
