The 18-year-old winger, nicknamed “Messinho” for his dribbling flair and vision, arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer after completing a transfer from Palmeiras worth up to €60 million including add-ons.
Estêvão burst onto the scene in Brazil as a prodigy. He became the youngest Brazilian to sign a deal with Nike at just 10 years old, made his Palmeiras senior debut at 16, and scored in the Copa Libertadores at 17. Last season, he was named Best Newcomer in the Brazilian league and included in the Team of the Year.
On joining Chelsea, Estêvão wasted no time making an impression. He scored in a pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen and featured in the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on August 17.
Club insiders suggest Chelsea intend to keep him in the first team rather than sending him on loan, with hopes he can form a dangerous partnership with fellow attacker Cole Palmer.
Internationally, Estêvão has already broken into the Brazil senior squad, making his debut in September 2024 during World Cup qualifiers.
With comparisons to both Lionel Messi and Neymar, Chelsea fans are eager to see whether Estêvão Willian can live up to the hype and become a new Stamford Bridge hero.
