FIFA has confirmed it will reveal the complete match schedule for the 2026 World Cup in a live global broadcast on Saturday, detailing kick-off times and venues for every game in the first 48‑team tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Event details

The unveiling will take place the day after the final tournament draw in Washington, D.C., where the 48 qualified and playoff-bound teams will be placed into 12 groups of four. Saturday’s programme will then map those groups onto specific dates, match numbers and host cities, finalising the path from the group stage through to the final.

FIFA plans to broadcast the show worldwide via its official digital platforms and a syndicated world feed for rights‑holding broadcasters, allowing fans in all markets to follow how the 104 matches are distributed across the 16 host cities.

What will be confirmed

The broadcast is expected to lock in:

  • Kick-off times and venues for all group-stage fixtures from the opening game on 11 June 2026 to 27 June.

  • The full knockout route, including dates, stadiums and time slots from the new round of 32 through to the final on 19 July 2026.

  • The hosting pattern for co‑hosts Mexico, Canada and the United States, who have already been pre-assigned to groups and guaranteed to play their group games on home soil.

FIFA has already confirmed that Mexico will open the tournament at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on 11 June, with Canada and the United States each staging their first matches on 12 June in Toronto and the Los Angeles area respectively.

Significance for fans and organisers

Saturday’s announcement will give supporters, federations and organisers a definitive framework for travel and logistics around the biggest World Cup in history, both in terms of the number of teams and total matches. With the schedule clarified, tour operators, host cities and local organisers can finalise ticketing, accommodation and transportation plans aligned to confirmed fixture dates and venues.

For fans, the broadcast will mark the first moment they can precisely match their team’s potential path to specific cities and days, turning an expanded format on paper into a concrete calendar for the summer of 2026.
